{midweek monochrome}

Venice, December 2010.
We were having breakfast in Cafe Florian in Piazza San Marco, when she suddenly stood up on her chair and started singing twinkle twinkle little star to a room full of people dressed in furs and pearls. When the song ended, the whole place broke into loud applause.

You can also find this on Black and White Wednesday, a lovely photo event on Susan's wonderful blog, The Well-Seasoned Cook.

  9. I just stumbled into your space through Sneha's. After spending a few minutes scanning your posts and reading a bit about you, I knew I wanted to come back, so I joined your fans club :) Hey Pia, I love your carefree writing and style. And yes gumption. Gumption, gumption, gumption--there I said it! :)

  10. Without people in the cafe, you get to see the lovely furniture! Gorgeous photo, great composition and black and white tones.

  18. hi laura! how lovely to have a venetian in our midst :) during our stay, i remember many conversations with people who've lived their lives in venice - it would always make me smile, the utter love they had for their city, followed by an exasperated roll of their eyes when they talked about water above their knees :)
